Bet you didn't know you could get a Black-Light in a compact fluorescent! Our 13 Watt Black-Light CFL is great for Halloween, or for any time you want to have some fun. Plus, they have some great other uses too.

How do they work:

Black Light or "near ultraviolet" ranges from 310 nanometers to 400 nanometers and should be distinguished from the erythermal and bactericidal regions of the electromagnetic spectrum. The normal human eye is sensitive to the radiant energy only between the 400 and 700 nanometer wavelength.

The Black Light fluorescent lamp contains phosphors that convert shortwave ultraviolet energy into near ultraviolet wavelengths. These wavelengths, cause the phenomenon of fluorescence to occur. The spectral radiation peaks at about 370 nanometers, and extends far enough into the visible range to produce a small amount of bluish light.

Black Light compact fluorescent lamps are electrically and physically interchangeable with regular compact fluorescent lamps.

• Wear protective eyewear in occupational situations and in close proximity to this lamp. Failure to may result in severe burns and long-term injury to the eyes.
• Certain medications and chemicals may increase your sensitivity to ultraviolet radiation. Consult your physician.
• These lamps can be harmful to skin and eyes in situations where people are exposed for extended periods of time.
• Unshielded lamps should be installed at least 40 inches from people. These lamps are not intended and should not be used for diagnostic, therapeutic or cosmetic purposes.
